Leadership, Time Management & Career Planning Course

Although the current structured training program for doctors allows progression from foundation program through the specialty training to a consultant post in a specialty of their choice, it does not equip doctors to plan their careers beyond specialisation. In the current world doctors need management, business, coaching, mentoring, teaching, leadership, and many other skills to progress in their careers, improve patient care and deliver a cost effective clinical service.

This unique 1-day course combines leadership, time management and career planning skills, which are all mandatory skills for a successful career. Education and clinical supervisors may provide some guidance to doctors through their careers and doctors may develop certain skills through various courses and sometimes get project experiences but on most occasions these are opportunistic chances and not part of a planned career pathway. Doctors need to start planning their careers right from their foundation years.

Who will benefit from attending the course?

This course would help Foundation, Specialty Training, Specialty Doctors, Staff grades, Associate specialists, Consultants, GPs as well as education supervisors, tutors and other "career helpers" who provide guidance and support to give thought, and dedicate time, to planning their career.
